You better watch out, Amazon Prime
Google Shopping Express, recently rebranded as simply Google Express, is expanding their suppliers’ and delivery network. Google’s instant shopping venture was started about a year ago. However, it already has more than 20 suppliers, and is available in New York, Boston, Washington DC, Chicago and some cities in California. The same-day delivery service is now available to about 20 million people across the U.S.
According to Google Chairman Eric Schmidt, when people are looking for something to buy, they often use Amazon instead of Google. As a result, Google is implementing a brand stretching strategy to compete with Amazon, which is increasingly seen as their main search competitor.

There are more slaves today than ever before
It is hard to believe, but this headline is actually true. According to Walk Free, there are currently about 29,800,000 people living under enslavement. Slavery is directly connected to the global economy, as supply chains all over the world utilize slave labor. Actually, there are likely some products made using slave-labor in our homes today. As a result, the next challenge for businesses has been posed – abolish slavery from their supply chains.
According to the UK Home Office ministers, large companies will now have to annually report the actions they have taken to make sure there is no slavery in their supply chains. The new rules will apply to all large companies, regardless of the kind of products they produce. The threshold for the size of businesses, which will have to comply with the new rule, still has to be defined by the government.

Air Cargo Traffic is expected to double by 2033
According to the World Air Cargo Forecast released by Boeing, air cargo traffic is expected to grow by 4.7% annually over the next 20 years. As a result, air cargo traffic would double by 2033.
However, air cargo growth in the previous years has been weak, due to a slowdown in the trade of commodities. Despite this, the world air cargo traffic began to grow in the second quarter of 2013. During the first seven months of 2014 the growth has been 4.4 %. If the growth continues, 2014 will be the year of the greatest air cargo traffic growth since 2010.
According to Boeing’s forecast, trade between Asia, Europe and North America will continue to take up the most of air cargo volume. However, it is predicted that air cargo traffic between Asian countries and within China will have the greatest growth rates over the next 20 years.
